There is no lab here, no shelf of samples and no test children. Much of this category says it spent months with twenty toys, and on several of those sites the claim does not survive a look at what else they review.
So we do the work that is actually available: read the manufacturer’s manual, compile the published piece counts, project counts and age ratings, and do the arithmetic nobody else does — projects per part, price per tile, how many afternoons a kit really contains.
Then every pick gets a Replay Signal: is it open-ended or does it finish, does anything run out, is there room to grow, and does it need an adult to work at all. Each line cites a published fact, and a component with no support is left out rather than guessed.
